Will HomeView sell better than HomePod?
Apple's HomeView is half HomePod, half iPad. We looked at how its parents sell: HomePod's share of Apple's devices, its rise and fall year by year, how many iPads sell for every HomePod, and where the one HomeView forecast lands.
Key findings
01 · The line-up
Of every device Apple's six main lines sold in 2025, 1.4% was a HomePod.
Across these six product lines Apple sold about 450 million devices in 2025. 6.2M were HomePods: one for every 40 iPhones.

02 · Rise and fall
HomePod has fallen four years running, 58% below its 2021 peak.
It grew from 4.2M in 2018 to 14.8M in 2021, then fell to 6.2M. The only HomeView forecast, about 1M a year, is 24% of HomePod's slowest year here, 2018. Hover or tap a year for its change.

03 · iPads per HomePod
In 2021 Apple sold 3.9 iPads per HomePod. In 2025, 9.4.
HomePod closed the gap on iPad until 2021, then lost it again: iPad sales went from 57.8M to 58.3M while HomePod's fell. Over all eight years it comes to 6.2 iPads for every HomePod.

About this data
Download CSV ↓Units are devices sold in a year, as collected by Business of Apps. Apple stopped reporting unit sales after 2018, so later figures are estimates (Apple, Canalys, Counterpoint, Strategy Analytics). The six product lines are the ones it tracks. The forecast is Ming-Chi Kuo's, from December 2024, for the then-rumoured HomePod with a display; no analyst had published a HomeView number by launch.
